What is a Hope Heals Advocate for the homeless/unsheltered population?
Advocates are trained and committed adults who will ensure the homeless/unsheltered population remains a priority in an overburdened system. As an advocate, you will be given the opportunity to know each individual you are paired with on a personal basis. Your personal support will assist the client in navigating the resources and systems in the community and learn to embrace the concept of a “warm handoff” when it best suits the individuals needs.
Advocate Commitment:
- Attend a Friday street outreach with a Hope Heals Coalition member.
- Submit a background check and complete an application.
- Commit to a 3-day Core Training with Form Communities.
- Attend 4-hours of in-person trainings with Hope Heals Coalition members.
- Commit to support your Advocate assignment.
